Writer's Block: Singles Awareness Day

Do you love or hate Valentine’s Day?

View 919 Answers

I wouldn't say I love it, but I don't hate it. Those people who hate it bother me. Like they're entire happiness depends on whether or not they're in a relationship. My God, if a boy wants to buy a girl a box of chocolate it is not the end of the world, nor is it if you don't get chocolates. It doesn't matter.

So happy Valentine's day! I'm asking you all to be my sweethearts

As a gift...a little Polyvore..Tangled inspired

I get so lovesick my sad thoughts float.

My sister gave me the privilege of cleaning up and organizing her iPod when she's done downloading all her music. Of course, I said no. She said that she knows I want to and that's the kind of stuff I do. The crazy thing is, she's right. I do like to organize things like that, and if I could do it for everyone I would. Especially knowing that my way is the best.lol I will teach her the way things should be, my way of order.

I'll take on the world when you're here with me.

I read Fire (A Graceling novel) by Kristin Cashore a while ago. Whenever I would read about the hero in that book, I would have a picture of Prince William in my mind. When I started watching Downton Abbey, Lady Mary always reminded me of someone. I just recently figured out who that was, and it is the heroine from that book. So now I have this fantasy of Prince William and Lady Mary in my head.

Speaking of Downton Abbey, how bad has that show gotten? It's so soap opera-y now. Matthew's story line is ridiculous! First he goes missing during the war, but then in that same episode he returns to Downton. Then he's injured and on the brink of death, he lives, but is paralyzed from the waist down. Then he steps out of his wheelchair and is miraculously fine. His fiance catches him kissing another woman, falls ill from the Spanish flu, and her dying wish is that he be happy. How convenient for Matthew and Mary.

Daisy finally accepts her kindness to William because she thinks he contacted her through a quiji board. Banes is found guily of murder and sentenced to hanging, but there was insufficient evidence or whatever and now it's life in prison. Thomas steals the dog so he can look like the hero when he finds her later. Richard threatens to destroy the family if Mary doesn't marry him.

It's all a bit too much, but the costumes alone are enough to keep me watching. Anna was wearing a coat in that last episode that was so fucking gorgeous! Plus, I want to see Lady Edith get a man. A man her age, who she truly loves and truly loves her.

Observers are a big mystery in Fringe, they're seen at every historical event since the beginning of time. They appear to be every where, at every point in history. We don't know how many of them there are, or what they do, what they know. We don't know who or what they are. I just found out that an observer appears in every episode of the show. That only means one thing...new project! I have to go watch the entire series again and find the observer in every episode.

Love can touch us one time and last for a lifetime.

Fire by Kristen Cashore, City of Bones by Cassandra Clare, The Chosen One by Carol Lynch Williams, Sex Drugs and Cocoa Puffs by Chuck Klosterman, A Night to Remember by Walter Lord, Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles, The Host by Stephenie Meyer, Just Listen by Sarah Dessen, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

It crossed my mind that I might not want Hunger Games in a doomsday scenario, but when I came up with 9/10 easily i realized that was the one missing.

Q. If you were to make an album consisting of only covers, which songs would you pick to sing?
I'd have to go the Michael Bublé route. 'Fever', 'Save the Last Dance for Me', 'For Once in my Life'. Classics

Q. If you could have any job in the world, what would it be?
Being a Disney princess would be the greatest job ever!!!

Q. Do you judge a book by it's cover?
Kinda. I definitely love a great book cover, but it doesn't necessarily make me read it. It does draw my attention though, to at least read the blurb on the back.

Q. Which TV shows have brought your family closer together?

7th Heaven used to be a thing in my house. It was on Monday nights, my dad's bowling night, so my mom and sister and I would watch it. I even remember watching it with my cousin over the phone. That show had such a great theme song. My mom and I also watched Joan of Arcadia and a little bit of The Ghost Whisperer. My brother and I watched Heroes and LOST.

I keep my eyes wide open all the time.

Here's the problem with the Oscars; the Academy is snobby.

This year nine movies were nominated for best picture, and The Artist won. A silent movie that nobody saw. But the Academy sees this movie and thinks that it's so inspirational and so influential that it must be best picture. They're wrong. The winners from the last five years: The Artist, The King's Speech, The Hurt Locker, Slumdog Millionaire, and No Country For Old Men. If the members of the Academy were trying to appear so pretentious maybe best picture would actually be a movie that appealed to everyone and widely seen throughout the nation. The winners should have been The Help instead of The Artist, An Education instead of The Hurt Locker, and Atonement instead of No Country For Old Men. I liked The King's Speech and it I do think it deserved to win. I did not like Slumdog Millionaire, but 2008 didn't appear to be a great year for movies.

I think that the Oscars should be more mainstream, and it does appear to be heading that way, but just because the mainstream is nominated doesn't mean that they ever win. Juno was nominated, Avatar, Up, The Blind Side, Inception, Black Swan.

I do not believe mainstream movies should get the vote just because they're popular though. A lot of media outlets let it be known that they thought Bridesmaids should have won. I haven't seen Bridesmaids so I can't say definitively, but I would absolutely hate if a raunchy comedy was best picture nominee. I wouldn't watch. Voting for something mainstream doesn't mean voting for the popular.

Basically, The Help, The Descendants, Moneyball...these would have been better choices for best picture. They're always saying that the show is going downhill and they need to score that younger demographic. And maybe that would happen if they didn't choose a silent movie as the 2011 best picture.

Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace
Angie is getting a lot of attention for this, and her leg has been the talk of the night. She can wear anything and it would look good we all know this, but let's actually look at this dress. It's a very plain, black dress. I don't really like the mismatch at the bust. But none of that really matters because the focal point of this dress is the slit and that was exactly what she was going for. Awkwardly standing with her legs six inches apart to show off that leg and that slit.

Anna Faris in Diane von Furstenberg
I feel there is too much shiny fabric on this dress. If your going to wear a dress like this it needs a plunging neckline or it should be backless. I don't like how it is stretched across her chest, it looks weird. I love her hair!

Berenice Bejo in Ellie Saa
Not a fan. I don't like the color, or the sheer material down the sleeve. I don't like the little embellishments all over this gown either. I hate her hair! It's so flat and uneven. The earrings are pretty, but don't really match. The dress should have been the color the earrings are. That emerald green looks amazing on gingers.

Busy Phillips in Dolce & Gabbana
I like this dress. I really dig the toned down color on the red carpet, and the detailing of the fabric is beautiful. I don't like those earrings. They look cheap and the don't go at all. I must applaud her though, because that dress with statement earrings and no other jewelry is the way to go.

Cameron Diaz in Gucci Premiere
I like how clean cut this gown is and it fish tails out with all those ruffles at the bottom. Very pretty.

Ellie Kemper in Armani Priv
Pretty color! I like sparkle-y dresses, but I think he shine almost always looks best as a strapless gown. I love the blunt bang withe her hair pulled back, I think it looks very glamourous. The earring are a little much for me, I think a basic stud would have been better.

Emma Stone in Giambatista Vall
I'm not so sure on the color of this. On tv it looked red, but in the pictures it looks fuchsia. I like how flow-y and drape-y it is. I think the bow is too big. I don't hate it, but it's a little over-powering. Plus, didn't Nicole Kidman already do this. Major fashion faux pas.

Glenn Close in Zac Posen
I love the color! The dress fits very nicely, but I don't really like the tail. The jacket is very interesting, I can't decide if I hate it or love it.

Gwenyth Paltrow in Tom Ford
The best dressed in my opinion. It looks very glamourous! The beautiful white gown fits amazingly and I love the diagonal line across the chest, but it isn't a on shoulder dress. So pretty! And the ruching at the chest is lovely! The masculine cape worn over the ultra feminine gown is so amazing and so fashion forward. I love it!

Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad
I expect nothing less from JLo, it it's a music award show we see the legs and if it's a more serious event we get the plunging neckline. Honestly, I would have been disappointing with anything else. (Shouldn't that neckline have tape on every inch of it though?)

Jessica Chastain in Alexander McQueen
I didn't like this dress, which is weird, because I usually like McQueen. E!'s fashion police said to give it another chance, but I still hate it. I just really don't like the pattern. I can't even look past it to comment on the make and fit of this dress. It's overpowering. Her makeup and hair look amazing, so fresh and clean.

Judy Greer in Monique Lhullier
I like this. At first glance, I didn't. I really do like the sparkle outlined bu the black, it's really very pretty. I'm not crazy about the neckline, I think there should be another black line incorporated there somehow.

Kate Mara in Jack Guisso
She looks a bit frightening, doesn't she? Someone should tell the girl to hold her head up. I really hate that piece of fabric going from the middle of the dress to wrap around the middle of the arm.

Kelly Ripa in Carolina Herrera
I like the off white dress and the black belt. I like the crisscross straps at the neck, but I think they look a bit sloppy.

Leslie Mann in Roberto Cavalli
I love this dress, it's so pretty. The color is great, the train is amazing. I love the sparkles at the middle and the sash breaks it up nicely. The simple hair and makeup really makes the dress do all the talking.

Ugh, this dress just looks frumpy and unflattering. See all the extra fabric at the hip? What is that? That neckline if horrible and those ultra puffy sleeves, that isn't a good look for anyone.

I love that she went with a gold gown. No one ever chooses that color. And then to wear it to the Oscars! I don't like the wrapping of the skirt or the sleeves, but the wrapping at the bust and shoulders are beautiful.

Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton
I didn't love the stripes of ruffling on the skirt.I like the little skirt at the waist. What is that called? I loved the cut at the bust, the little sash at the waist, and I love the broach! Pretty color for her, too.

I love the cross across the chest that turns into that big shoulder. It seems different and more modern than the basic one shoulder dress. It's more of a sleeve than just a shoulder number. I like it!

I love this dress, but I wish the hemline were longer. She should have worn better shoes if she was going to show them off like that. Her hair is so great, maybe it's a weird thing to notice, but the part in her hair is great. And those earrings are amazing.

Sandra Bullock in Marchesa
I don't like this. I think the gold pattern at the waist is weird and ugly. The top looks like a baggy t-shirt. It does look like maybe this look is backless, but I didn't see it in photos or at the show anywhere.

I don't know how I feel about this one. I like the top and the little bubble skirt thing at the waist. (What is that called?!) I'm not crazy about the full skirt though, it looks so incredibly structured. I don't like the tail either. I think she should have added a necklace, and I like her hair.

Where to start with this one? I love the color, but I don't think it looks great with her hair. I hate the bust line, that little square cut out between the breasts, what is that? That's weird. I love how the solid fabric turns into this flowing chiffon mermaid tale. It is so pretty!

Wendi McLendon-Covey in Simin Haute Couture
I love this dress. I like how the whole bodice is embellished and that detailing drips down into a full, sheer, flowing skirt. I do think it's a little juvenile though.

The dress itself is pretty. I love how the straps get thinner the higher up on the shoulder. I don't know what the deal is with that bra type thing, that's weird. It's a pretty material though.

Elizabeth Banks
This dress is something else. I don't like the giant polka dot material and the long sleeves are a little much. The blue climbing up the skirt looks kind of horror movie-ish, like this shadow is coming to get you. I wish I knew what kind of material that was. I do like these two colors together,

I don't like the bust line or the swirly designs all over the top. The skirt is very pretty. I love how it flows, very goddess-y. And the back is very sexy. The elegance of the gown doesn't really match the nude netting at the neck in my opinion.

This looks like a teddy. Very inappropriate and an odd choice.

Michelle Rodriguez
I love this. It looks like a nude color dress with a sheer, sparkly, black dress draped over it. I like the sheer material if it's draped over another material. And the black wrapping around the waist and bust is fantastic.

Olivia Wilde
The neckline on this dress is so pretty. It looked amazing on tv, didn't really come off in the picture. I don't like the big butterflies on the belt.

Paula Patton
The top of this dress is so tightly fitted, it looks almost like a bathing suit. I think this skirt is very inappropriate. This is the Oscars, honey, not the Grammys.

I really like this. The colors are great together and I love how you get the pop of color at the bust and the bow is wonderful.

Ashley Tisdale
I don't like anything about this dress really. I hate the little material covering her breast and that there's just nothing else there. I hate the skirt, the should be more fabric there.

This dress has no shape to it. It's horrible. I really don't like the bangles either.

Kim Kardashian

Q. The magic book fairy pops out of your cereal box and says "you and your favorite character (from a book of course) can switch places!" Who are you going to switch with?
A. This is a hard question. Half of the books I read, the characters are damaged or hurt in some terrible way. The other half a very light, romantic comedies, and I don't want to choose some shallow airhead. My answer has to be Lady Fire from Fire by Kristin Cashore. I think she is brave to do what she did, and she overcame all she thought was playing against her. She hid for a long time because of her irresistible beauty, but is thrown into a position to uncover a plot against the king. She realizes that hiding wasn't the life for her. She didn't want to take the easy way out any more and chooses a life she deserves to live.

Scar, because he is the most realistic. It's very easy to imagine that there are many people in this world who would go to the evil places Scar went to.

Q. Are you more of an optimist or a pessimist?
A. I'm more of an optimist than a pessimist, but honestly I'm a realist.

Q. In case of an impending zombie apocalypse, what would be your weapon of choice, and why?
A. Because I'm a realist, I can say that I don't need a weapon for the zombie apocalypse because I will surely be on of the first to die.

Far and Away
Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman
1992      3/5  -worth watching

A young man leaves Ireland with his landlord's daughter after some trouble with her father, and they dream of owning land at the big giveaway in Oklahoma ca. 1893. When they get to the new land, they find jobs and begin saving money. The man becomes a local barehands boxer, and rides in glory until he is beaten, then his employers steal all the couple's money and they must fight off starvation in the winter, and try to keep their dream of owning land alive. Meanwhile, the woman's parents find out where she has gone and have come to America to find her and take her back.
----
This movie was a little long. It wasn't bad, there was just a lot of little things mixwd in that just didn't need to be there. I liked that they never really got together but it was obvious they wanted to. That kind of tension is better than any sex scene, I think. And I like that it was never really shown how they came together, just that one long lost kiss. I can't believe that they both lived though.

Daydream Nation
Kat Dennings, Reece Thompson, Josh Lucas
2010      2/5 -nothing special

Big city girl Caroline is new to a small town, she disregards her high school classmates, and then just for kicks starts a sexual relationship with her teacher, Mr. A. Meanwhile, there's a serial killer roaming the town, an industrial fire burning on the outskirts, and Thurston is mourning the loss of his best friend. As Thurston falls in love with Caroline, realities quickly catch up to all characters, and they are all going to have mature or face the consequences.
----
This movie was a little weird, the seperate storylines, and the chick seducing the teacher then falling for the stoner. By the way, the stoner was really cute. I didn't get this whole thing and it felt very disjointed, but I wasn't bored watching it.

With their father away fighting in the Civil War, Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy grow up with their mother in somewhat reduced circumstances. They are a close family who inevitably have their squabbles and tragedies. But the bond holds even when, later, men friends start to become a part of the household.

I didn't really like this movie, but I can't help wondering if it was the movie that turned me off or Winona Ryder.

I Am Number Four
Alex Pettyfer, Timothy Olyphant, Dianna Agron
2011    1/5 -bad

Extraordinary teen John Smith is a fugitive on the run from ruthless enemies sent to destroy him. Changing his identity, moving from town to town with his guardian Henri, John is always the new kid with no ties to his past. In the small Ohio town he now calls home, John encounters unexpected, life-changing events-his first love, powerful new abilities and a connection to the others who share his incredible destiny.
----
This movie wasn't really what I expected, a lot more sci-fi. I don't know why I was expecting anything different, the kid is an alien after all. I didn't like the bad guys, they just seemed goofy and I didn't like the creatures shown.

The Bodyguard
Whitney Houston, Kevin Costner
1992      1/5 -bad

A pop singer has been receiving threatening notes, and her manager hires a bodyguard known for his good work. The bodyguard ruffles the singer's feathers and most of her entourage by tightening security more than they feel is necessary. The bodyguard is haunted by the fact that he was on Reagan's secret service staff but wasn't there to prevent the attack by Hinckley. Eventually the bodyguard and the singer start an affair, and she begins to believe his precautions are necessary when the stalker strikes close to home.

Elizabeth
Cate Blanchett, Geoffrey Rush, Joseph Fiennes
1998         2/5 -nothing special

This film details the ascension to the throne and the early reign of Queen Elizabeth the First. The main focus is the endless attempts by her council to marry her off, the Catholic hatred of her and her romance with Lord Robert Dudley.
----
This movie was just something to watch, not really something worth watching. Then I found out that maybe I was wrong; I was surprised to find out this movie was Oscar nominated.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn part 1
Rob Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner
2011     2/5 -nothing special

Bella and Edward are to marry. Jacob becomes upset when he learns that Bella is planning to consummate the marriage on her honeymoon. The wedding over, Bella and Edward spend their honeymoon on the Cullen's idyllic private island. But, to their dismay, they discover that Bella is pregnant. The fetus is growing at an accelerated rate and everyone fears for Bella's safety. Will she go ahead with her pregnancy, whatever the cost? The Quileutes close in as the unborn child poses a threat to the Wolf Pack and the towns people of Forks.
----
I was pretty curious what they were going to put into this movie. How they were going to take this nothing of a book and somehow stretch it into two movies. I have to say it was better that what I expected. The scene when Bella drank the blood was intense. I was never a fan of the wolves, that's why I love the first book and the others were just okay. The CGI (or whatever it is) is great though, seeing the wolves in the movie is amazing. And scary. I didn't like the pact talking in there wolf forms though. I think that is what stands out to me as the worst part of the movie. They didn't even show any interaction between Rose and Jacob and that was disappointing, my favorite part in the book, such a sweet little moment wasn't in the movie..grr. And I absolutely hate that the movies make Edward look like such a pussy. I cried during the birthing scene, embarrassing. And then I was mad at Edward for stopping to admire the demon baby thing instead of saving Bella! I'm kind of pissed that they wasted Anna Kendrick on such a nothing role. She should have been Alice. I have a huge complaint about Breaking Dawn, but it's really the book I have this problem with, not the movie. This demon baby was such an enormous conflict for everyone; for an entire movie and how ever many pages of a book. The end of this conflict was such a wimpout. I think that's what I don't like the story or the baby.

Jennifer Ehle, Matt Damon, Jude Law, Kate Winslet
2011    3/5 -worth watching

Soon after her return from a business trip to Hong Kong, Beth Emhoff dies from what is a flu or some other type of infection. Her young son dies later the same day. Her husband Mitch however seems immune. Thus begins the spread of a deadly infection. For doctors and administrators at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, several days pass before anyone realizes the extent or gravity of this new infection. They must first identify the type of virus in question and then find a means of combating it, a process that will likely take several months. As the contagion spreads to millions of people worldwide, societal order begins to break down as people panic.
----
This was a crazy experience! I absolutely believe that people touch their face that much and who knows what they touch inbetween all those times. I liked Matt Damon's character a lot; he was civilized. It's so hard for me to believe that people would come unglued like that and escentially forget who they are because of a crisis like that.

You know I have an appetite for sexy things.

I've been looking at a lot of scrapbook layouts on pinterest and I've gotten into it more. I wish I could more accurately copy some of the pages I see, but it is seriously expensive to scrapbook. I keep on on-going list of materials I need when I create. For example, When my cousin had her baby I bought some 'it's a boy' stickers, but when I made the pages for my book I found out I had more pictures than stickers so I added 'baby boy' stickers to my list.

I feel so behind on my reading. It seems like forever since I actually sat down and read something I wanted to read. It hasn't been that long though. I think it just seems like that because I recently have been trying to force myself through something I didn't like at all. I finally gave up on that. My eyes got really tired after crying my eyes out some day last week and I discovered pinterest and got into scrapbooking again and my sleep schedule is all screwed up. I broke me rule. At the beginning of the year, I made a rule for myself that my computer would turn off at 10:30. I need to start that again.

I've come to love your disappearing act.

I seriously slept all day yesterday. I woke up around 2 in the afternoon, went upstairs to get something to eat and the clock read 3:00. I forgot to change my clock! So instead of feeling uber lazy that I slept so late, I actually felt guilty for sleeping until my dad got home from work.

I went to Half Price Books. I sold a few and I only had two books that I wanted to look for. They didn't have either. I ended up with The Outsiders and a cool hard cover copy of The Great Gatsby. I also wanted to pick up some journals. One for myself and one for me cousin. Robby is a writer, poetry mostly. I don't know if he has a journal or not, but I wanted to get him one. It's actually a little difficult picking out the right one. Most of the journals there were pretty girly so those wouldn't do. And I didn't want to get a cutesy one, like with a skull or something. I think if you have a real journal it should be timeless. I ended up with plain brown for him. For me, I'm not really a writer. I got a pretty, sparkly, girly one. I like to keep lists.

I was out with my dad and he stopped at a grocery store just to run in for something. So I blasted my new happy song and just started car dancing, when the song was over I noticed that all the cars parked around my had changed. I hadn't even noticed. I wonder how many people went home with the funny story of the girl dancing to Beyonce alone in the parking lot.

Peter Facinelli and Jennie Garth are divorcing. My heart is broken.

It took a rumor to make me wonder.

My sister bought me a pillow yesterday. For absolutely no reason. It's a black pillow with a London scene on it. I love it and it goes great in my room. It was wonderfully nice of her!

Fringe isn't on. I don't know the reason, but we're on a four week break. I think it's kind of a good thing. Obviously I need to see more and I'm desperate to see that blue opening, but I'm a little pissed at Peter. I can't believe he fell for the wrong Olivia AGAIN!

A shipper is someone who is invested in the relationships (usually) of fictional characters. A slasher is someone who ships same sex characters, even if that's not canon. Canon means something that is what the writers intend. For example, and we're gonna use an easy one that everyone can understand. Aladdin and Jasmine are canon, Jafar and Jasmine are non-canon, and if you ship Aladdin and Jafar that's a slasher. Supernatural has a rabid fanbase; you're a Sam girl, you're a Dean girl, or you're a slasher. Slashers want Sam Winchester and Dean Winchester to be together romantically. Yes, they're brothers. And the writers of the show are fully aware of their fans, and they really play up the sexual chemistry between these two guys. All of this to explain something I saw online that really made me laugh out loud. These slasher fans who want these two Winchester brothers to hook up are called Wincestor!!! How great is that?!!!

Grandma is going to Aunt Susie's the last week of March and I'm invited. Unless they can find cheap airfare to Florida, then I'm out.

I play it off, but I'm dreaming of you.

Apparently I'm having a Claire Danes movie marathon. I just watched a movie with her, my current Netflix is her and my next Netflix is with her. Not complaining though, Claire Danes is just pure awesome.

I'm at a little bit of a standstill with my scrapbooking. Every year (starting three years ago) the whole family goes up to my aunt's lake house in Fox Lake, Wisconsin. I'm making her a scrapbook of the festivities. Some things I have stickers for (eating/BBQ), but not enough pictures to fill the page. Some things I have photos for, but don't have stickers. The Memorial Day parade up there was a garbage truck, a school bus, a tractor, and then it was over. I have pictures of everyone sitting out on the sidewalk, and I really want some die-cuts of these vehicles to go with it. The next year we went to the annual chicken fling, so I'd really love to find some stickers for that. I'm going to be very conscious this year about what photos I need.

The Hunger Games movie has really snuck up on me. I don't know if I'm going to see it in the theater, but if I do it will be a last minute thing. I want to read the book again before that.

Right now I'm in the middle of a great book, but as I mentioned in an earlier post, I'm just not into reading right now. So now I have to plow through my current read so I can get into The Hunger Games, plus it's due back at the library Tuesday.

Is snuck not a word? Auto-correct is telling me it is not.

Nothing's perfect but it's worth it.

This book is very real and very emotional. It displayed the emotional loss and the little things that no one ever thinks of unless they're forced to. It was very well written. Now Clara has left the city—and Christian—behind. No one back home has any idea where she is, but she still struggles to shake off her fear. She knows Christian won't let her go that easily, and that no matter how far she runs, it may not be far enough....
----

A very thought provoking read. There were many times I would stop reading to think about what was just said, or stopped and read that last bit again because it resonated. It makes you think about yourself and others; who you are and what you want to be, and what you appear to be.

I admire this girl for having the courage to tell someone what was going on, and to tell all of it. I love that she knew what was happening was wrong and she was strong and brave enough to end it. That she made that decision all on her own, and that she didn't just stay with him because she loved him. She left on her own, and no one forced her into that decision.

Vera and her brother, Will, live in the shadow of the Great Panic, in a country that has collapsed from environmental catastrophe. Water is hoarded by governments, rivers are dammed, and clouds are sucked from the sky. But then Vera befriends Kai, who seems to have limitless access to fresh water. When Kai suddenly disappears, Vera and Will set off on a dangerous journey in search of him-pursued by pirates, a paramilitary group, and greedy corporations. Timely and eerily familiar, acclaimed author Cameron Stracher makes a stunning YA debut that's impossible to forget.
----

I don' like to give up on books. I felt like giving up a few times, but I still made it half way through. It took me a long time to get there though. For a 230 page book it took me so long to get half way, it just dragged and dragged and I just didn't want to read it.

Serious Spoilers**
I found it to be unreal that they would go looking for a boy they only barely knew. I didn't think the writing was that great; I didn't feel any real connection between the characters, I couldn't imagine the scenes described. There were some horrible things going on in the story, but it wasn't greatly described. The real problem with this book is the completely unbelievable events that took place. These kids go out looking for some other kid and are kidnapped by pirates. Nexxt chapter and there's a flood and the kids are kidnapped by this rebel group. Next chapter, the kids are sold into slavery. Next chapter, the pirates raid the slavery grounds looking to rescue the kids they kidnapped. Next chapter, the kids and the pirate are arrested. That's where I quit. Understandable?

We went shopping a lot. Went to Joan Fabrics and I finally found a few scrapbooking materials that I was searching for.

We went to Pier One where I looked but didn't touch. There were a lot of things that I loved, but didn't have the money or the space for. I did look at all the cheap-o stuff. I bought my sister a ring and I bought myself this little notepad. It's a London scene in gray, but the double decker bus is red and glitter-y and really pops.

You can't really scene the Big Ben pad, but it's really cute. It's also the only one they had in the store. I would have bought all three if they had them, but I wish they had the Leaning Tower one.

We went to Target, and I forgot to use my giftcard. I bought two books, Lady Almina and the Real Downton Abbey and 1985 and I bought these bookends

I think I officially have as much London stuff as I have Paris stuff. Time to start working on Rome.

She took my love and ran around.

Seriously disappointed with Fringe last week. There is just a part of me that can't accept that this is our!Olivia without that blue opening sequence. Have I said before how much I hate the orange universe? I'm sure I have. I guess, being a hardcore POlivia shipped I was expecting more from their reunion. There are just things that bother me. Like when Peter told her that he c could see it in her eyes that she wasn't his Olivia. That had to sting. How much of Peter's confusion can this girl take? He's already shown on multiple occasions that he can't tell the difference between his Olivia and all the other Olivias. Anyway, what I really want to know is what is going on with Walter!! If the Observer is telling Peter that he is home, why is only Olivia remembering? This need for a Bishop men reunion is more important to me than Olivia and Peter. I am about to watch last night's episode, let's hope it's better.

Cold nostalgia chills me to the bone.

Danni asked me to make her a bookmark. I guess I made her a Twilight bookmark when she started reading the series. Now that she's reading The Hunger Games, she wants a new bookmark. I don't remember the Twilight bookmark, but I bet it sucked. I like this Hunger Games one. I also made her a Donkey Kong tie bookmark. She shares the initials, and in grade school kids called her donkey kong because she was bigger. I decided to start calling her that affectionately, to change the meaning of the nickname for her.
