My uncle knew this guy who had this story. This guy had twin uncles who were shut ins, they lived in this big house that was kind of in the middle of nowhere. They got this ventriloquist dummy at one point and treated it like it was a really person, it sat between them on the couch, it had a bunch of clothes, when the guy came to see his uncles he'd have to say hello to the dummy too. His name was Rudy. So eventually they got more dolls, 13 in all, but Rudy was always the main guy. When the uncles died, the nephew had to take care of the estate and everything, but he didn't know what to do. The house would need a lot of work before selling and the dolls were really expensive so he had to figure out what to do with them. He went to the house and put a few dummies in different rooms, turned on lights and the radio to make it appear that someone was home. A couple months later, he goes back to check on things. He walks in the door, turns on the light, and there's Rudy. In a different room, the radio station changed, and he's wearing a different hat. He isn't scared that the house is haunted or anything, these men were his uncles, but the dummy creeps him out. He goes through the house just checking on things, and leaves Rudy in the kitchen, and goes home. A few weeks later he gets a call from the police that the alarm went off but everything looks still so they aren't going in. The guy drives down to check things out again. He walks in the front door and there's Rudy. Sitting at the window, radio turned off, and he's wearing a different hat! The guy just turns around and leaves.

The he goes overseas, where my uncle met him, and he says that when he goes home he's just scared to go back to that house and find Rudy in a different place.

When my uncle told me this, I had nightmares. I woke up absolutely sure that Rudy was sitting at the table in the next room. I had to go to the bathroom so I cautiously looked around and turned on the tv for some light. In the bathroom, I just thought that if the tv was on a different station when I came back I was going to wake up my uncle and make him sleep in that room with me.

There's gotta be something for my soul somewhere.

City at the End of Time by Greg Bear
adult fiction, adventure, alternate views, fantasy, sci-fi
2/5    - nothing special

Do you dream of a city at the end of time?

In a time like the present, in a world that may or may not be our own, three young people–Ginny, Jack, and Daniel–dream of a doomed, decadent city of the distant future: the Kalpa. Ginny’s and Jack’s dreams overtake them without warning, leaving their bodies behind while carrying their consciousnesses forward, into the minds of two inhabitants of the Kalpa–a would-be warrior, Jebrassy, and an inquisitive explorer, Tiadba–who have been genetically retro-engineered to possess qualities of ancient humanity. As for Daniel: He dreams of an empty darkness–all that his future holds.

But more than dreams link Ginny, Jack, and Daniel. They are fate-shifters, born with the ability to skip like stones across the surface of the fifth dimension, inhabiting alternate versions of themselves. And each guards an object whose origin and purpose are unknown: gnarled, stony artifacts called sum-runners that persist unchanged through all versions of time.

Hunted by others with similar powers who seek the sum-runners on behalf of a terrifying, goddess-like entity known as the Chalk Princess, Ginny, Jack, and Daniel are drawn, despite themselves, into an all but hopeless mission to rescue the future–and complete the greatest achievement in human history.

Bumped by Megan McCafferty
alternate views, dystopia, family, funny, high school, mature, young adult
3/5    - worth reading

In 2036 New Jersey, when teens are expected to become fanatically religious wives and mothers or high-priced Surrogettes for couples made infertile by a widespread virus, 16-year-old identical twins Melody and Harmony find in one another the courage to believe they have choices.

<<<>>>

This book was a trip to read. Everything mentioned so casually, these characters don't know a different life. Using slang like pregg and everythingbut, being proud to prostitute themselves. Wanting to turn pro so they getting a better payout. It's disturbing really.

I think the chapters are too short. I like alternating POVs, but I think this one just jumped around way too much.

Spoilers.
I liked the twist that Gabriel had God, then I was hurt that he claimed to be lying about that. When he came to look for Harmony and asked for Melody's help, I really wanted to believe that he wanted to find her because he loved her, but I just don't trust his.

I didn't feel a big connection to this book and didn't think I'd continue with the series, but with the cliffhanger ending I have no choice.

You know that I love you boy.

Prom and Prejudice by Elizabeth Eulberg
angst. beach read, high school, romance
3/5        - worth the read

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single girl of high standing at Longbourn Academy must be in want of a prom date.

After winter break, the girls at the very prestigious Longbourn Academy become obsessed with the prom. Lizzie Bennet, who attends Longbourn on a scholarship, isn't interested in designer dresses and expensive shoes, but her best friend, Jane, might be - especially now that Charles Bingley is back from a semester in London.

Lizzie is happy about her friend's burgeoning romance but less than impressed by Charles's friend, Will Darcy, who's snobby and pretentious. Darcy doesn't seem to like Lizzie either, but she assumes it's because her family doesn't have money. Clearly, Will Darcy is a pompous jerk - so why does Lizzie find herself drawn to him anyway?

I read this in a few hours. It was a light, fun read. I couldn't help but picture Matthew Macfayden and cast while reading. Which was awkward because they were just high school kids. Plus, I had this British accent in my head the whole time.

The next day came but not a beam of light.

The Lifeboat by Charlotte Rogan
adult fiction, mature
2/5      - nothing special

Grace Winter, 22, is both a newlywed and a widow. She is also on trial for her life.

In the summer of 1914, the elegant ocean liner carrying her and her husband Henry across the Atlantic suffers a mysterious explosion. Setting aside his own safety, Henry secures Grace a place in a lifeboat, which the survivors quickly realize is over capacity. For any to live, some must die.

As the castaways battle the elements, and each other, Grace recollects the unorthodox way she and Henry met, and the new life of privilege she thought she'd found. Will she pay any price to keep it?

<<<>>>

Spoilers.
I didn't really like this, apparently I'm the only one.

It could have been better. Going into the details of the boat and everything that happened would have been good. Instead we only got a glimpse into their survival and focused on the murder.

A little detail on the other people rescued would have been nice. We only got names here and there, there was zero character development for anyone.

As for Grace, the main character, I hated her. I don't know if we were supposed to hate her or not; maybe, like the jury, we were supposed to make up our own minds. Grace was a mean, manipulative, cruel person. She murdered a man without question because someone else wanted her to. She manipulated her husband, the other survivors, her doctors, her lawyers, and the court to make them believe that she was a good, decent person. She deserved to be found guilty.

Let's go dance under the street lights.

I've been watching Chuck a lot lately. I really like that show a lot, still haven't seen the final season. A weird thing happens when I watch though. I enjoy watching it and there's usually an exceptionally good moment in each episode that just takes my breath away, but the show seems to go on forever. I feel like I'm sitting on the couch for more than 40 minutes and I find myself just waiting for it to end. I don't know why this is and I surely can not explain it.

I watched this new show, Bunheads. It's the same chick who did Gilmore Girls so that got me to watch it. It was weird, but there were a few lol moments for me. It was decent enough that I'll catch the next episode, but not good enough for me to recommend it. It was very obviously an Amy Sherman-Palladino project. There were a number of times where the main girl could have been a younger Lorelai Gilmore. Except that this girl is much more annoying than Lauren Graham ever could be, I think it's her voice.

I have nothing really to say about the MTV Movie Awards other than this; OMG! THAT WAS SO UNFUNNY! My sister and I just sat there looking at each other with out eyebrows raised. I also couldn't believe that Jen Lawrence and Rob Pattinson weren't there.

You guys, Miley Cyrus is only 19 years old.

My heart is holding on to you.

The Perfect Christmas by Debbie Macomber
chick lit, romance
3/5   -worth reading

WHAT WOULD MAKE YOUR CHRISTMAS PERFECT?

For Cassie Beaumont, it's meeting her perfect match. Cassie, at thirty-three, wants a husband and kids, and so far, nothing's worked. Not blind dates, not the Internet and certainly not leaving love to chance.

What's left? A professional matchmaker. He's Simon Dodson, and he's very choosy about the clients he takes on. Cassie finds Simon a difficult, acerbic know-it-all, and she's astonished when he accepts her as a client.

Claiming he has her perfect mate in mind, Simon assigns her three tasks to complete before she meets him. Three tasks that are all about Christmas: being a charity bell ringer, dressing up as Santa's elf at a children's party and preparing a traditional turkey dinner for her neighbors (whom she happens to dislike). Despite a number of comical mishaps, Cassie does it all --- and she's finally ready to meet her match.

But just like the perfect Christmas gift, he turns out to be a wonderful surprise
!

<<<>>>

A woman goes to a no nonsense matchmaker to find her perfect match. I couldn't help but picture Steve Ward.

I like these little romance books. I don't care if they're cheesy, I don't care if they're unrealistic. I just enjoy happy stories. But the epilogue to this kind of book is always just a bit much.

I like the story here, a woman goes to a matchmaker and ends up falling for him. A great little romcom.

Spoilers.
But the epilogue; are we suppose to believe that within a year, less than a year really, and they're married and pregnant? Really, she doesn't even know him. She doesn't learn one thing about him in the book.

You wanted her and you got her.

Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks
adult fiction, alternate views, contemporary, family, love, mature, social issues
3/5   -worth the read

When a mysterious young woman named Katie appears in the small North Carolina town of Southport, her sudden arrival raises questions about her past. Beautiful yet self-effacing, Katie seems determined to avoid forming personal ties until a series of events draws her into two reluctant relationships: one with Alex, a widowed store owner with a kind heart and two young children; and another with her plainspoken single neighbor, Jo. Despite her reservations, Katie slowly begins to let down her guard, putting down roots in the close-knit community and becoming increasingly attached to Alex and his family.

But even as Katie begins to fall in love, she struggles with the dark secret that still haunts and terrifies her . . . a past that set her on a fearful, shattering journey across the country, to the sheltered oasis of Southport. With Jo’s empathic and stubborn support, Katie eventually realizes that she must choose between a life of transient safety and one of riskier rewards . . . and that in the darkest hour, love is the only true safe haven.

<<<>>>

I enjoyed reading this. I liked it from the beginning and maybe it slowed a little throughout, but I never lost interest. It reminded me of the movie Sleeping with the Enemy, which I watched quite a bit growing up.

I absolutely hated the end and it just left this bad taste; even though the whole book was a decent read.

Spoilers.
I liked how Katie really came through at the end and didn't rely on somebody else to save her.

I really hated the whole thing with Carly and Jo. And that being the absolute last thing in the book it's what sticks with you.

I've forgotten if they're green or they're blue.

Forget You by Jennifer Echols
angst, beach read, high school, mature, romance, social issues, young adult
4/5   -just wonderful

There’s a lot Zoey would like to forget. Like how her father has knocked up his twenty-four- year old girlfriend. Like Zoey’s fear that the whole town will find out about her mom’s nervous breakdown. Like darkly handsome bad boy Doug taunting her at school. Feeling like her life is about to become a complete mess, Zoey fights back the only way she knows how, using her famous attention to detail to make sure she’s the perfect daughter, the perfect student, and the perfect girlfriend to ultra-popular football player Brandon.

But then Zoey is in a car crash, and the next day there’s one thing she can’t remember at all—the entire night before. Did she go parking with Brandon, like she planned? And if so, why does it seem like Brandon is avoiding her? And why is Doug—of all people— suddenly acting as if something significant happened between the two of them?

Zoey dimly remembers Doug pulling her from the wreck, but he keeps referring to what happened that night as if it was more, and it terrifies Zoey to admit how much is a blank to her.

Controlled, meticulous Zoey is quickly losing her grip on the all-important details of her life—a life that seems strangely empty of Brandon, and strangely full of Doug

Sleeping with the Enemy
1991       3/5 - worth watching
Julia Roberts, Patrick Bergin, Kevin Anderson
I have seen this many times.

Laura and Martin have been married for four years. They seem to be the perfect, happiest and most successful couple. The reality of their house- hold, however, is very different. Martin is an abusive and brutally obsessed husband. Laura is living her life in constant fear and waits for a chance to escape. She finally stages her own death, and flees to a new town and new identity. But when Martin finds out that his wife is not dead he will stop at nothing to find and kill her.

<<<>>>

Spoilers.
There's a part at the end, when Martin finds her and Ben tries to help. Just before Martin hits him Ben spits out at him, "Fuck you." He says it with such hatred and disgust, it's almost comical now. 'Fuck' is said so freely now, at any random thing and moment that it has lost all meaning.

2002     3/5 - worth watching

I've seen this movie a few times.

An abused woman discovers that the dream man she married isn't who she thought he was. She and her daughter try to escape (aided by her previous boyfriend), but he pursues her relentlessly. Fearing also for the safety of her daughter, she decides that there's only one way out of the marriage: kill him.

Did anyone come away from this movie thinking this was okay? She killed him. It was premeditated murder if you've ever seen it.

The Help
2011    3/5 -worth watching
Emma Stone, Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Bryce Dallas Howard

Set in Mississippi during the 1960s, Skeeter (Stone) is a southern society girl who returns from college determined to become a writer, but turns her friends' lives -- and a Mississippi town -- upside down when she decides to interview the black women who have spent their lives taking care of prominent southern families. Aibileen (Davis), Skeeter's best friend's housekeeper, is the first to open up -- to the dismay of her friends in the tight-knit black community. Despite Skeeter's life-long friendships hanging in the balance, she and Aibileen continue their collaboration and soon more women come forward to tell their stories -- and as it turns out, they have a lot to say. Along the way, unlikely friendships are forged and a new sisterhood emerges, but not before everyone in town has a thing or two to say themselves when they become unwittingly -- and unwillingly -- caught up in the changing times.

I didn't care for this movie. I can't quite put my finger on why because I liked the book. I guess it just comes down to the book is always better than the movie.

50/50
2011    3/5 - worth watching

Adam is a 27 year old writer of radio programs and is diagnosed with a rare form of spinal cancer. With the help of his best friend, his mother, and a young therapist at the cancer center, Adam learns what and who the most important things in his life are.

<<<>>>

I don't know why I torture myself with these movies. Not only is it just sad, it really makes you think about all the shit people go through. If you can relate in any way to anything Adam says, it's kind of overwhelming. I was depressed all day after watching this.

Midnight in Paris
2011        3/5 - worth watching
Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, Michael Sheen

Gil and Inez travel to Paris as a tag-along vacation on her parents' business trip. Gil is a successful Hollywood writer but is struggling on his first novel. He falls in love with the city and thinks they should move there after they get married, but Inez does not share his romantic notions of the city or the idea that the 1920s was the golden age. When Inez goes off dancing with her friends, Gil takes a walk at midnight and discovers what could be the ultimate source of inspiration for writing. Gil's daily walks at midnight in Paris could take him closer to the heart of the city but further from the woman he's about to marry.

I enjoyed watching this. I am Gil. Paris in the 20's in the rain. Swoon. That being said how could someone like Gil be with someone like Inez?

I really want to donate everything in my closet and just start over.

When I packed for Memorial Day weekend, I just stared in my closet. I have nothing I actually want to wear. I have decent clothing, but I don't actually like anything I have.

Next week What Not to Wear will feature a woman in a wheelchair, and I'm curious to see what they tell her about lines and cuts and proportions. That's something I'm much more conscious of. I bought a flowy summer dress that was very cute, but the fabric doesn't settle right when you sit down, it bubbles and puckers. And since I'm going to be sitting 100% of the time, I may never wear that dress.

I went to GoodWill last night and got a few stuff. I got two pairs of jeans, one of them was very short on me, but if i roll up the cuffs they're fine for little capris or board short type style. $10 for two pairs of jeans is a definite deal. I got two basic shirts and another that's more dressy; a top rather than a shirt. (Am I the only one who makes that distinction?) I got a very cute jean jacket that has the look of having a hoodie underneath, the hoodie doesn't actually exist. When I looked at it again this morning I discovered a little prize, thumb holes! I love thumb holes. I got a sweater that also had a little prize; the original tags. A brand new sweater for less than half the price it was originally!

Some people want to fill the world with silly love songs.

Maybe, as a woman, I'm missing the point of watching hot guys take their clothes off, but I really don't understand why anyone would want to go see Magic Mike. Is there an actual storyline to this movie? I don't get it.

About this final Twilight movie. I never liked Renesme, but I accepted her in the book. But now seeing pics from the movie, with this little girl sitting on Jacob's lap, and he's in love with this little girl; all I can think is, PEDOPHILE! Not gonna lie, it really creeps me out.

Gidget
1959           4/5  -just wonderful!
Sandra Dee, James Darren, Cliff Robertson

Due to an accident while swimming in the sea, Francis meets the surfer Moondoggy. She's fascinated of his sport and starts to hang out with his clique. Although they make fun of her at first, they teach her to surf. Soon she's accepted and given the nickname "Gidget". But it's hard work to become more than a friend to Moondoggy.

<<<>>>

I don't usually like old movies, and I don't know why. I love vintage and retro, but I just don't get into old movies. But I love this! I don't know what it is, but something about this movie just really gets me.

When Moondoggie starts singing; it's not a musical or anything, he just randomly starts singing. I know (no doubt in my mind) that if I saw this movie years earlier I would have burst out laughing. It's so random and ridiculous and doesn't make sense or fit in, I would have laughed and made fun of it. Now I just swoon.

Rear Window
1998      1/5  -bad
Christopher Reeve, Daryl Hannah, Ruben Santiago-Hudson

A recently paralyzed architect, Jason Kemp, believes he has witnessed a murder from his apartment window. Jason's colleague, Claudia, quickly becomes his partner in trying to solve the mysterious puzzle that lies in the apartment across the way. The more-than-patient detective, Moore, grudgingly responds to their repeated calls and accusations, but believes Jason's imagination is getting the best of him. Determined to uncover the truth, Jason continues to dig deeper - eventually finding himself locked in a deadly game of cat and mouse.

<<<>>>

I found this a little boring. Maybe because it's so famous and has been spoofed many times over, there was no suspense. Maybe because I unknowingly watched a remake.

But Christopher Reeve is a very attractive man.

The taste of summer sweetness on my mind.

I love Chuck! It's a light, fun, heart warming show. It didn't fall victim to the Moonlighting curse and it didn't have a ton of drama. It all just happened. It has great character development and stories, it has cute relationships and even one seriously epic bromance. Casey and Morgan anyone? Chuck and Sarah got together and dated and fell in love and got married. And most importantly, the show is ending. It is the only show I can think of that has ended just when it should. It isn't being dragged out, and I applaud them for that. I wish that more shows would just end instead of staying on because they can and their getting money. The characters should always be put first and don't put the show on so long that we don't want to see it anymore.

1984 by George Orwell
1/5    -bad
dystopia, adult fiction

Written in 1948, 1984 was George Orwell's chilling prophecy about the future. And while 1984 has come and gone, Orwell's narrative is timelier than ever. 1984 presents a startling and haunting vision of the world, so powerful that it is completely convincing from start to finish. No one can deny the power of this novel, its hold on the imaginations of multiple generations of readers, or the resiliency of its admonitions a legacy that seems only to grow with the passage of time.

<<<>>>

Not really for me. Where's the action, where's the romance? I wasn't satisfied with the realization that the world should not be like that.

I didn't like the excerpts from "the book" either. That was just boring to me, and I thought about just skipping it.

I didn't like Winston. I never really connected to him in any way and I didn't really believe his opposition against The Party.

I really didn't like Julia. How she just all of a sudden decided that she loved Winston, how she didn't care to rebel and work toward a better future, she was really just annoying
.

She kept all the pain inside.

Do you go OUT OF YOUR WAY to hold the door open for people? In other words, you've already gone through, taken a few steps away, the door is almost closed, and when you see that someone is either heading back the way you came or is following behind you, would you double back to catch the door before it closes?

This doesn't always apply to me, but I always appreciate it when people do this for me.

If you get a haircut and you get to the car and see that it's not quite right (in that it needs just a bit more cutting) would you go back in and tell them to keep at it?

I honestly don't know. I'm a push-over, and I can't see myself doing this. Really though, why would you leave the salon if it wasn't right? If the stylist said she was done, but I didn't agree I would say something.

If someone knocks a display over in a store, do you stop and help them pick things up?

I'm usually the one who knocks the display down.

What subject do you wish there was a LiveJournal community for, but you haven't been able to find one about it yet?

Every once in a while I feel there should be more LJ communities or better mods. It's like people create a group, but not enough people follow so they just give up. I wish every celeb had a page. Not the celebrity themselves, but a fanpage, like on Facebook.

What is your view on gay marriage?

Oh boy! I don't understand why people are against gay marriage. I thought this was a free country. The government should have absolutely no say who I love! No one can say that a man can't love another man. People always say that "It's in the bible that marriage is between a man and a woman." Really? That's your argument? What does the bible say about adultry? Or divorce?

I'm addicted to a life of material.

The movies of my life

The first movie I remember watching
Aladdin

The movie that inspired my fashion sense when I was a kid
Spice World. I wanted to be a Spice Girl, I was Baby Spice. I had the platform sneakers and the pigtails. I would speak in a fake British accent and gave concerts for the neighbors.

The first R-rated drama I ever saw
Sleeping With the Enemy. There really wasn't any form of censorship in my house so I watched all kind of movies growing up. I saw Sleeping With the Enemy for the first time when I was little and my mom was the one who told me to watch it.

My first movie-star crush
Heath Ledger! OMG! Heath Ledger!

The first sex scene I saw
I watched like every horror movie growing up and there is always a sex scene. I don't even remember what movie this was, but it was something about this group in some theater and a clown was killing them off. I think Ashley from The Fresh Prince was in it. These people were having sex, about to be killed for breaking the #1 rule of horror films. I was just at that age where I was really curious, but very embarrassed about it.

The scariest movie I've ever seen
It. From what I remember, I was very little when my brothers had the genius idea to allow me to watch a movie about a killer clown with razor sharp teeth. Each of the characters have their own story about their encounters with Peenywise. One of the stories was this girl hears an odd noise coming from the sink in the bathroom, she moves forward to investigate and blood just starts pouring out and goes everywhere and she gets smothered in it, she runs outside screaming her head off and see Pennywise across the street waving at her. That horrified me. And I still think of that when I hear a weird noise coming from a drain.

The movie costume I'd love to wear
Keira Knightley's green dress in Atonment. I read somewhere that that dress is surpassing Audrey Hepburn's dress in Breakfast at Tiffany's and Marilyn Monroe's dress in The Seven Year Itch as the most fabulous movie dress out there.

The last movie I bought
I haven't bought a movie in such a long time! Spiderman 2 was probably the last one. It was in the $5 bin at Walmart.

The movie musical I know every word to
Grease. In chorus class in school we were doing Grease songs and there weren't enough lyric books to go around, so I gave mine up because I already knew the songs. My friends looked at me like I was crazy and I just didn't understand. Didn't everyone give Grease concerts in their living room growing up?

The movie character I wanted to be
I actually wanted to be Zuko. John Travolta in Grease. When we gave our Grease concerts in the living room, I was always Zuko. He had more songs, he could dance, he was cool. Back in they day I would much rather do 'Grease Lightening' than 'Hopelessly Devoted'.

The remake I'd love to star in
I don't like remakes.

The movie I can't turn off when it's on tv
The Wedding Date and The Family Stone. I have a big crush on Dermot Mulroney!

The movie I've seen more times than I can count
Clueless. I watched Clueless All. The. Time. It was the movie of my generation.

The movie I quote all the time
I don't quote movies all the time. My cousins do. I guess if I quote something it's usually Big Daddy or Billy Madison, 10 Things or Mean Girls.

The last movie that made me cry
Probably 50/50. I don't even think I watched the last ten minutes because I couldn't handle it.

The movie I can't wait for
I don't even know. Summer is supposed to be a big time for movies, but they all just seem kind of blah to me. I guess I'm excited for Jurassic Park. I heard a while ago that it was being re-released in 3D, but I haven't heard anything about it since; so I don't know.

The scene that reminds me what great acting is
Ewan McGregor in Moulin Rouge. The scene where they've been exposed and he's hiding backstage and tells Nicole Kidman that he doesn't want her to sleep with The Duke. My God, that is wonderful.

The movie I'm always telling people to see
I think everyone should see Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

I need this more than you know.

The Mortal War is over, and sixteen-year-old Clary Fray is back home in New York, excited about all the possibilities before her. She's training to become a Shadowhunter and to use her unique power. Her mother is getting married to the love of her life. Downworlders and Shadowhunters are at peace at last. And--most importantly of all--she can finally call Jace her boyfriend. But nothing comes without a price.

Someone is murdering Shadowhunters, provoking tensions between Downworlders and Shadowhunters that could lead to a second, bloody war. Clary's best friend, Simon, can't help her. His mother just found out that he's a vampire and now he's homeless. Everywhere he turns, someone wants him on their side--along with the power of the curse that's wrecking his life. And they're willing to do anything to get what they want. Not to mention that he's dating two beautiful, dangerous girls--neither of whom knows about the other one.

When Jace begins to pull away from her without explaining why, Clary is forced to delve into the heart of a mystery whose solution reveals her worst nightmare: she herself has set in motion a terrible chain of events that could lead to her losing everything she loves. Even Jace.

Love. Blood. Betrayal. Revenge. The stakes are higher than ever in "City of Fallen Angels."

Spoilers.

I didn't really like how Simon dominate this one was. I like Simon just fine, but I want to read about shadowhunters, not vamps.

I thought that this book would fall victim to the curse of putting the main characters together, but it avoided that. It was a little romantic angst happening, but I really like the story that kept them apart. And the cliffhanger to open the next book seems promising as well.
